Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the total length of a YouTube playlist? +
Paste the playlist URL into the box above and click "Analyze Playlist". The tool calls the YouTube API to sum up every video's duration and shows you the total, plus times at 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x speed.
Can I see how long specific videos in a playlist will take? +
Yes — use the Range Start and Range End fields to select a subset of videos (e.g., videos 10–50). The total duration will reflect only that range.
Does this work with private playlists? +
The tool uses the public YouTube Data API. Private playlists are not accessible without authentication. Unlisted playlists will work as long as you have the direct link.
How accurate is the duration? +
The durations come directly from YouTube's API, so they are exactly as accurate as what YouTube reports. Unavailable or deleted videos are excluded from the total.
Can I use my own YouTube API key? +
Yes — enter your API key in the "YouTube API key" field. This is useful if you hit quota limits or want to make requests on your own quota.
How does the Watch Schedule calculator work? +
After analyzing a playlist, scroll to the Watch Schedule card. Enter how many hours you watch per day, select which days of the week you watch, and it will calculate the finish date accounting for skipped days — including a circular progress indicator if you enter how many videos you've already watched.
